Reservations & Refunds

To confirm a reservation, a $300.00 deposit is required at time of booking. Cancellations must be made within 45 days of the reservation arrival date. There is a cancellation fee of 15% of the full amount of the reservation. Guests forfeit their deposit if the cancellation is made after the 45-day deadline, unless the cottage can be re-booked. No-shows are charged the full amount and there are no refunds for early departures. Re-booking is not guaranteed. Deposits are normally made through E-Transfers to confirm your reservation. Contact owner for instructions.

Occupancy

Each cottage has a fixed occupancy rate and a determined maximum occupancy rate based on many factors including our septic system capabilities. The number of people occupying the cottage must be disclosed at the time of rental. If your group is larger than disclosed, or larger than the legal maximum limit, all guests will be required to vacate the property immediately with no refund.

We do not allow outdoor parties. House parties are permitted at individual cottages with guests that are not staying at the property. If a party is reported, you will be asked to vacate the property with no refund. Smoking, all-terrain vehicles, and recreational vehicles and tenting are not permitted.

Anyone who is allowed to bring a pet must also have a kennel for the pet. There is a daily surcharge per pet. There is also a maximum number of pets allowed per cottage and pets are not allowed to be left alone unattended in the cottage without a kennel or cage of some kind. All pets are not allowed to roam the grounds freely and must be on a leash at all times and the owners  solely are responsible for cleaning up after their pets do their thing. Please take note that it is against the Law in PEI to leave your pet unattended in a parked vehicle or to walk your pet on a beach in the National Park without paying a hefty fine.

Cleaning

Guests are responsible for leaving their cottages in a reasonably clean and orderly condition at departure. Guests are expected to wash their own dishes and dispose of trash outside in the garbage bins. All dirty towels should be left in the bathtub. All dishes, pots, and pans are to be left in the cottage as they were upon arrival. The gas grills need to be cleaned after each use and the propane tanks turned off. At the discretion of management, Del Mar Cottages has the right to charge cleaning fees if this requirement is not met.

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the cottages. Please let us know if the cottage is not up to par. As the old saying goes, one should always leave a place as nice as you found it. It's just common sense if you want to be a good guest. Most of our guests are super great, but there have been some guests who needed to be reminded.

We Know you are on vacation and don't want to spend your entire time cleaning. Housekeeping services are available during your stay at a minimum charge of $75.00 depending on your requests. No housekeeping service is included in your rental cost other than the basic cleaning of the cottage upon your departure.

You may trade towels at the office in the morning and we will be more than happy to accommodate you. Please remember that we are a green facility and try to recycle as much as possible. If you would like to support our efforts in this regard we would appreciate you re-using your towels.

Damage Reporting & Repair

All Damages will be charged for the replacement costs incurred. This includes any items removed from the property. There is a $100 damage deposit at check in and is refundable following the exit inspection and within 7 days of check out.

Park Pass

Park Pass is not provided so please buy it when you approach the park kiosk. 

 

Lost Items

Lost items are something we would be more than glad to help you with. Our policy is to bring anything found to the office where it is tagged and held for three months. We are not responsible for any items you left behind, but we will try to make accommodations for you. A $10.00 service charge and the cost of postage to ship the item will be necessary.
